Belts for my Body Type: Short Waisted

I have always been a fan of belts. No matter how simple the outfit is, it can always be glammed up with accessories such as colorful belts. My only problem is... I have to consider some factors before buying belts.

The first thing I always, always consider is... will it fit my short torso body type? Sure, there are a lot of fabulous belts you can choose from. The wider it is, it is supposed to give you more silhuette. I personally love the look of obi belts. But, sad to say, I am too scared to try them on my short waist figure.

However, just recently, I had this urge to just try out some outfits... and to go ahead and break the rules.

When they said... it's wrong to have wide belts on short torsos... I'm hoping, that there's a way around this. In my next posts, I will be featuring pics of me, with different width of belts. I'd be happy to hear from you guys, on which belts will fit my figure.

A not so new tip, but I am loving the video

So now gals... don't stash those cards from freaky admirers, ROFLMAO!

Tips I've Learned as a Newbie in Odesk

I've encountered a lot of questions on how to succeed in oDesk as a newbie. I myeslf have just started working in this site. However, I've earned my first few hundred bucks in a few weeks time. It takes a lot of patience at first. When you get a hang of it. You'll learn that working online is not that bad.

Here are a few tips I've gathered from experience:

If you haven't registered yet to oDesk, try to register first.

Second, after you registered, you also need to pass the exams. The first exam you need to pass is the Odesk readiness test. It may sound difficult, but don't be intimidated by the questions. Besides, you can search for answers while you're taking the test... the answers are all in the website. Also, if you haven't passed it the first time, you can retake the test as many times as you can... and take note of where you had a wrong answer, because you'll be taking the same set of test every time.

Third, after passing the oDesk readiness test, you need to pass other exams related to your chosen job. Example, if you want to work as a data entry specialist, exams related to this are as follows: US English Basic test, Office Skills test, MS word 2003 test and others. Remember that you don't have to take all the skills test, just take the ones that you think are related to the job you want to work on.

Fourth, make sure to pimp your profile. It must look presentable. Don't be afraid to showcase your achievements. Also, I have heard that it helps a lot if you post a pictureof yourself. This way, the employer won't think you are just someone not serious with your job that you don't bother completing your profile.

Fifth, you may want to set your rate per hour to as high as you want on a later stage. Let's face it, thousand of applicants are around each day. You need to compete with them. However, employers would want someone with a lot more experience. To gain experience, I would advise you to lessen your rate initially. Over time, when you think you have gained a lot of hours already... you can increase your rate per hour accordingly. You also need to be wise enough in doing this. You don't want to bill the employer a higher rate, when you know that the job is too easy.

Sixth, make a good cover letter. This helps a lot in presenting your self to the employer and may give him his first impressions of you. Make sure to make it a personalized cover letter. The employer will know if you made a copy and paste cover letters. To avoid this, show your employer that you have read about the job description, and prove to him why you deserve the job by sharing your experience related to it. If you have no experience to that certain job, show him or her your interest to the job, and that you are learn easily. However, make sure you only apply to jobs that you feel you can do. You don't want to get a low feedback just because you are not familiar with the job. Don't be afraid to clarify with your employer abouth things you are not sure of when you get the job. This way, you are able to give them a quality result.

Lastly, be patient on applying for jobs. It may take days before you get your first interview. All this depends on how you pimped your profile in my opinion. And when you are scheduled for an interviiw... be on time, and be confident.

I guess that's about it. Good luck and enjoy working online!!!

I won't kill for the sake of vanity... tsk!

I was checking out Youtube, for the latest tricks my favorite makeup gurus can share. However, there's one comment that caught my eye... something about the products used in the video... killing many rabbits. That got me really curious, and so I decided to check the youtuber's sight... only to see videos and information that changed the way I look at makeup.

Watching this videos made me love mineral makeup more. The fact that most mineral makeup (if not all) that I know of, were vegan... and most, were not tested on animals.

Check out this video, and realize that it's not neccessary to kill these poor animals for the sake of vanity:

I hope that by viewing the above video, we will all be awakened. I myself have been guilty of using makeup brands, that weren't animal friendly. I checked out the Caring Consumer website, and was surprised to see a lot of the products that I have been using in the past were on the list of companies that tested their products on animals. On the other hand... I was also very happy that 95% of the products I currently have were on the Cruelty-free companies list.

From this day, I swear to stick to cruelty free and organic products... Besides, being vain shouldn't be that bad, aight?

Another favorite look... that I wish to learn soon

I have been looking everywhere for this palette. Hope I can buy one soon. If not, atleast a similar one. I just love how it looked on Michelle Phan. And judging from the tutorial... I don't think it's that hard to learn. Check it out...

Venus & Mars Haul

As usual, I always make it a point to read product reviews and forums before buying for myself. After a lot of reading, I guess I was convinced to finally have my first Venus & Mars haul.

At first, I was really confused on which products to buy, if you check the Venus & Mars website, you'll see that they have a lot of goodies to offer. But, I decided to buy according to my needs. Besides, I can always try the other products later (if budget permits).

For my very first purchase, I decided to buy their Cleopatra Rub in Mild Yummy Melon, Emu Oil, and their Strip Tease Package 6, which contained: Milk Salt Spa (Mango Mandarin), Bare it All Cream (Mentholated Lavender), CPC+G and Lulur Soap.

When I received the package, I wondered how Jamie tried to fit everything in it. I even thought she missed packing one item, because I didn't think it'll all fit in what I thought was a small package... but when I opened... tada!!! They're all there, packed tightly and very secured. She really must have a talent in wrapping stuff, lol!

Nuff of all the blabbing... let's get into my thoughts with regards to these products.

My take on this product: Cleopatra Rub
· I really need a lotion with SPF on it. I found this product just in time, when my own stock of SPF fortified lotion ran out. So, I decided to buy the 200 ml.
· The scent suited the product’s name well. It’s like putting a candy in cream form all over my body. From previous reviews I have read about this lotion, I thought the smell is going to be strong... but from personal opinion, it’s fine... and I love the yummy smell.
· Very rich in consistency. Although it was a little hard to spread because of it’s consistency, I was still very happy with the after effect, because my skin is certainly smooth and silky. Indeed, every millilitre I paid was worth it.

My take on this product: Spa Milk Salt
· Another yummy scent from the VNM line. Enjoyed using it while I was in the shower.
· I am not sure if I read the part where it’s supposed to be moisturizing too... but I sure felt it’s moisture effect while trying to scrub it all over my body.
· The granules from the salt I suppose didn’t cause any abrasive effect on my skin. I have been using Abonne’s Milk Salt Scrub for months now... and when I thought that one was the gentlest to my skin, I realized I was wrong. I still love Abonne though, for days when I’ll need the extra scrubbing. But for sure, I’ll be using VNM’s milk salt spa more often. I hope it’s fine if I use it on a daily basis. It’s just too yummy on my skin.

My take on this product: CPC+G
· This is supposed to have a whitening effect. I am sure I wouldn’t know the results until weeks from now. But I am loving it already, for the reason that it didn’t sting at all, when I tried it on my skin... as in pure CPC+G alone. I then followed it up with the emu oil just like one of the VNM users said in her testimony. I hope to see the results soon though. I intend to use this on my blemishes, and dark spots on my foot (might be due to wearing tight shoes).

My take on this product: Bare it All Cream
· This is actually one of the VNM products I was excited to use. I know I will be using it to a lot of my skin problems... number one will have to be my tummy stretch marks.
· It has a much thicker consistency compared to the Cleopatra Rub.
· The minty feel was so fun... Although I have read that it’s mentholated effect will last for hours, I didn’t expect it to be that minty and fun. I thought some of the reviewers were just exaggerating... but this time, anybody can surely quote me on this: “The VNM’s Bare it All Cream’s minty effect is really lasting and fun... you can feel it seconds after applying”
· Since one of my skin problems are darkened, chicken skinned underarms, I decided to apply this to this problem spot. I decided to apply it daily, if I’ll be staying at home. It gave me a fresh feeling on that same spot, lol! Like it. And as an added bonus, I didn’t smell a bit. Now I am definitely going to use this daily. And if I am going somewhere, i better use my usual antiperspirant since I kinda sweat... but i’ll still use this at night. Hope to see the results soon too.

My take on this product: Lulur Soap
· Upon opening my shipment, this one was the first thing that caught my eye. I though, it’s a little small for the price. I told myself, that with the price... this better be good. A few minutes after checking my items, I decided to hit the shower. I can’t wait the following day to try these goodies. I was too careful not to waste any product... but just a few lathering, I have already made a foam of soap. Yup... it’s sudsy as Jamie said it.
· I went out of the shower with the clean feeling... but mind you, the squeaky feel didn’t include that tight feeling.
· I bought this product for my blemishes... but I am still contemplating whether I should use it on my face or my body. I am a bit choosy with products on my face. For now, I just used it on my whole body. Hope to see the results soon though.

My take on this product: Emu Oil
· I am not really sure of where I’ll use this product when I decided to buy it. I have read from forums that this oil has a lot of healing properties. When I searched more, I ;earned that VNM is one of the online shops selling emu oil without the distinct smell... that’s why I opted to buy here.

These are only initial thoughts of the products. Like I have only used them hours ago... Overall, I find my orders above average. It has always been my fear that buying online products, I might get disappointed to see them with my own eyes. Let' face it, a lot of the sellers online, post pics of their products that actually looks far from the actual things they are selling. It's a great thing that my Venus & Mars haul were able to reach my initial expectations. An added bonus is the personal touch the owner Jamie puts in her products. I appreciate the sweet note she gave me, along with the package. Although I have seen in other blogs that she leaves notes to her products, I actually thought, she usually do this to her friends "slash" customers. It's so sweet, that even if this was my first purchase, she took the time to personalize them :-)

Summer Makeup by Johnny Lavoy

I have always loved Johnny Lavoy's hairstyles and makeup looks. I particularly love this look, because I find it very wearable... an everyday, and so easy to do. I am no makeup expert, although I love makeup. However, with this look, I felt like a pro... not to mention, it's fresh and just in time for the season's looks.

Ellana Minerals

Although I first fell in love with Barenaturals, adventurous as I am, I decided to try out other local mineral make up brands, such as: Ellana. I have to say that their website caught my eye. Also, they gave me a free catalog on my first order. For me, it is very helpful... and it made me want to buy more products because I can just check on the catalog anytime.

Here are the stuff I bought:

I am into lip products, so if there's one thing that I usually catches my eye in any make up line... it is anything that has something to do with the lips. In the case of Ellana, I bought their strawberry lip treatment, strawberry lip scrub, lip/cheek tint in Ruby and lip gloss in Lush.

My take on this product: Strawberry Lip Treatment

Hits:
  • I love it's minty feel
  • No eecky consistency like other lip treatments, just glides smoothly
  • At 150 php, it is affordable
  • Since it is in a jar, I can use a lot of the product

Misses:

  • Only treats temporarily, I need to reapply every now and then to keep my lips moisturized.

My take on this product: Strawberry Lip Scrub

Hits:

  • I love the sweet taste
  • I guess it helps keep the blood on my lips circulated through the massage motion when applying it, I just noticed that my lips look rosy after each scrub.
  • Affordable

Misses:

  • The sugar granules are too big (as shown in picture 3)
  • Can be a bit messy

My take on this product: Lip/Cheek Tint in Ruby

Hits:

  • Stays long.
  • As mentioned in the catalogue they gave me... it really does not dry right away, so that, I had enough time of blending it

Misses:

  • The consistency is too thick for me... can be hard to spread. But ofcourse, with a few tips and tricks I was able to master using this.
  • Can be messy and hard to control, since it's in a pump bottle, I sometimes pump too much product.

I also bought some MMU products.

My take on this product: Pure Blend 2-1 Foundation Concealer (sorry I didn't have an individual picture, but you can see it on the pic on top, I only bought a sample jar

Hits:

  • I uber love the coverage, it gave me.
  • I don't have to add too much products when using it.
  • Fits well with my skintone (I used Cafe Mocha)
  • Airbrushed finish, gave me that flawless look... me happy.

Misses:

  • I can't think of any, I love it too much... will be buying a bigger jar as soon as I finish this up.

My take on this product: Mineral Finishing Powder in Expresso Con Pana Translucent Finish

Hits:

  • Gave my oily skin a matte finish.
  • Stays long
  • Fits my skintone well

Misses:

  • I was disappointed with the packaging (as seen in the photos). There were scratches already on the cover when I received them.
  • Although the shade suited my skin well, it was a bit dry. I was hoping for more glow, since I chose the translucent finish. Or maybe, I buffed it the wrong way on my face? Will have to experiment more on this.

My take on this product: Multi-purpose mineral eyeshadows

Swatches shown (L-R): Sensation, Delicate and Raven

Hits and Misses:

  • Since I oredered only three eyeshadows, I can't really generalize. However, from the three that I ordered, I noticed that Sensation and Delicate are very pigmented. Although Raven gave that ashy look, perfect for smoked effects... I still prefer for it to have a more intense darkness in it. On the good point, Raven has more staying power compared to the first two. I am yet too try it as an eye/brow liner.
  • The Sensation eyeshadow is my favorite. Very versatile, and perfect for highlighting too. It blended well.

Barenaturals Minerals

I have always loved makeup, and have used quiet a lot of products already. However, when I heard about mineral makeup, I decided to give it a shot. Everyday Mineral Makeup was the first MMU product that caught my attention. I have heard good reviews from them in Youtube and through other MMU users. I have ordered from them through their online site... yet, I still can't wait to try using mineral make up...and can't wait for my EDM shipment. With that, I decided to try out MMU products that are locally available.

It has always been my habit of checking product reviews before buying. When I checked around, I noticed that Barenaturals are one of the local products with wonderful feedbacks from buyers. With this, I decided to buy from them first.

My first purchase were brushes, and some MMU. However, on my next purchases, I started investing on non MMU products which they also offer, which includes their: brushes, oils and extracts. For this post, I decided to share a little on their MMU though.

I have gathered their 3 types of Mineral Foundation: Therapeutic Skin Perfecting Mineral Foundie, Classic Foundistay... and my favorite, Premium Glow Foundie.

My take on this product:

Hits

  • I especially love the airbrushed, and dewy finish that Premium Glow Foundie gave me... Love the finish, not to mention, it indeed gave me the glow I hope to get
  • Staying power is perfect for my day to day activities. I don't have to retouch often.
  • Affordable
  • I have a Golden Medium skintone...and all three foundation variants fitted me...how cool is that?
  • I love the packaging... the matte gold suited my makeup purse...lol

Misses:

  • Therapeutic and Classic Foundie almost have the same effect on the skin (in my opinion)...although I believe their formulations are different so are their benefits.

My take on this product: BN Skin Perfecting Primer

Hits and Misses:

  • Feels light on the skin... I don't feel I have them on, when I use them.
  • No eecky feel, not greasy and easy to apply
  • Affordable
  • Has a weird smell though, but it is not overpowering.

Overall, I love my Barentaurals products. Although I didn't post everything I purchased from them (brushes, emu oil, etc), I am still a Barenaturals suki. Not only are their products worth the price (very affordable) but also because, Lami, the seller, is one of the best online sellers around (peomise!). Very accommodating, especially when I just started switching to MMU, she helped me on which products to buy, that'll suit my skintone.

There are more goodies in the BN website that I am yet to try :-)

Below is a screenshot of my oDesk account profile, on the lower part, you'll see the number of hours I have worked, and their equlvalent earnings... kewl, huh?

Gossip Girl: Chuck's I Love You's Were Worth the Wait for Me to Hear Them

They are my favorite Gossip Girl couple. And I like Blair, I waited in agony for Chuck to finally say those three words, I Love You. I don't get the point of how it's so hard for him to utter those words, and I feel for Blair everytime she feels the hurt of it.

With this Season 2 Finale, when Chuck, finally sayed the magic words: I Love You, I felt like it was worth it all. I cried watching this, and thought, that if I was Blaire, I would be crazy not to take Chuck back.

And Blaire was also uber cute, when she asked Chuck to say 'I love you' again. Indeed, one of the best love stories, I love them as a couple.

Mommy in Chef Wannabe Mode

My friends always tease me for being such a trying hard in the kitchen. But for this afternoon... I was in my wannabe-chef-mode... that I wanted to make one of my favorite snacks.

A lot of you may be familiar with this. But since I just learned thies recipe, (and I am very bored tihis afternoon), I thought of sharing this to fellow kitchen dummies, lol!

Chili Cheese Sticks

Ingredients:

Green Chili (sili espada)
Cheese slices
Springroll/lumpia wrappers
Oil for frying

First, we need to remove the seeds from the inside of the green chilies, by slicing them 'almost' in halves. Depending on how hot you want them... if you are not a fan of hot recipes, take as many of the inside part of the chilies, leaving almost the skin only. In doing this, I would suggest using a spoon, coz it can be irritating to your skin.

You then prepare the cheese slices, and put them in the chilies, as shown in the pictures below.

After that, you can start wrapping them, just like any springroll recipes. Be sure to seal it with a little water, so that melted cheese won't leak out.

Next, heat the oil in the pan. Make sure they're not too hot when you add the rolls, or else, you'll burn them just like I did... lol!

Tadaaaaaaaa!!! The finish product! Okay, I admit...I need to learn more on presentation and garnishing... but hey, I'm still learning...

Enjoy!

Being a make up lover myself, I can't stop laughing after I saw it...that I thought, this is something I just want to share to fellow make up addicts.

And to the boys out there who thought the same way as kevjumba? We hear yah....

Sharing, Caring...and Budgeting

My baby may have inherited his sensitive skin to me, that’s why, like me... he can’t just use any products in the market. A few days after his birth, he had Infantile Acne... I pity his skin condition, that we did not only shop for products to suit him, but also looked around for the best pediatrician and, or dermatologist. He even tried a lot of products that is suited for teenagers considering his very young age (few days old). I thought of buying Aveeno and Burt’s Bees products due to their good reviews... but not only are they difficult to buy here, they’re also very pricey, for me (as an average single mom?).

Until finally, we found the right stuff that suited him... Funny, coz I have been using this product long before I gave birth. I can’t believe, that after the long search, we’ll end up with something...that’s right in my bathroom, and have been with me all along.

My baby and I, are currently using Cetaphil Cleanser.

My take on this product?

I never had problems with it...and it’s amazing that it’s also perfect for my baby. An added bonus is it’s availability here in the Philippines, considering that we are in the southern part.

Now, my baby never had a recurrence of his infantile acne... which according to his paediatrician, might normally come back after a few months. I am very happy.

I guess, this is one of the best tips that I’ve learned in keeping a budget, at the same time, still looking and feeling good... sharing a few things with my baby. It’s very convenient for me, especially in travelling, coz there’s little stuff to pack for both of us.

Aside from Cetaphil, below are two other products we share:
1. Johnson’s Baby Cologne (Forever Mine Scent) – I love my perfumes... but on regular days, me and my baby share the same cologne. This has been my choice, because of all the colognes I’ve smelled, this one has the best scent for me. I think it’s fresh and powdery scent gives me and my son a refreshed feeling. Not to mention, the price is also very friendly to my budget.
2. Johnson’s Baby Powder (any variant)- My baby seldom has rashes, but I love to put a little powder on his bottom after each diaper change to have that fresh feel. As for me, I also powder my chest and back area, because I perspire a lot... I do this usually after each bath.

Mylot Earnings

For the past weeks, I have enjoyed starting and answering discussions in Mylot, that I didn't notice that I am earning quiet enough, for someone not expecting to earn there much. I may have been a member for months now, but it's not only until a few days ago, where I really poured out my thoughts to the discussions.

This just made me uber glad, coz this will really help me a lot with extra funds that I may need. You see, now that my baby is growing, aside from milk and a few stuff he needs daily... I thought of buying him a walker, stroller and baby seat booster (I am not sure if that's how it's called). With the little earnings I get online, I am able to buy him this things one at a time. Indeed this Mylot earning will help me in my wany little ways, especially because I am earning without me noticing it, since it's fun. I am hoping that in a few days time, I can reach the pay out, so I can add it to my budget for my son's new things.

Below, is my Mylot earnings which I have accumulated in the last few days. Please click it for a larger view.

Tummy Dilemma

I am on my way to a friend's birthday party, and just realized that I have wasted quiet a lot of idle time, not minding my tummy flabs. I was so horrified, that the only option for me to wear is my colored leggings, instead of my skinny jeans!!!

I tried on my jeans and they fit well with my thighs.. but hips and waist? I can't even close the damn buttons! I am so mortified! Did I just gained more weight this past few weeks? Or is it just my tummy muscles getting more relaxed than they should. Every time I try to close the jeans, they seem to show off my terrible tummy flabs. How dfo I get rid of these?!

Not only am I worried now with my stretch marks, I have weight issues to think of. Don't even know where to start? Hmmm... And I am such a ouch potato, maybe start an exercise routine? Or a certain diet maybe? This is sad... but I have to do, what I gotta do, all for the sake of vanity, ei?

Stretch Mark 101...anyone?

I just came home from the drugstore and bough for myself a Palmer's Tummy Butter. This is actually my second jar. I finished the first one before I became an official mommy. I just thought of buying another one, since I have a friend who swore that her stretch marks vanished (maybe lessened) after using this butter.

I didn't have any problems with it's formulation. It is a bit greasy, but I guess, that's supposed to be how it normally should be, to moisturize my skin, and avoid stretch marks. I also love it's yummy smell. It's more like coca with vanilla.

The only thing I didn't like about it, is that, despite my religious use of it, I still had a bunch of stretch marks a few weeks before giving birth. I know a lot of my friends are going to ask me, why the hell, would I want to try it again, if it didn't help me the first time I used it... and I thought, maybe because, I believe it's worth a second try.

I am very patienbt with the products I use, and I am crossing my fingers that this time, my stretch marks will vanish with this second jar of Palmer's Tummy Butter. I haven't tried the other Palmer's products that also promised erasing stretch marks. I opted for the Tummy Butter, because I heard a lot of good reviews about it. It shouldn't be that bad, trying it out, 'again' this time. Wish me luck guys!

Preggy Nightmares: Stretch Marks and a Flabby Tummy

I guess it has been weeks since my last post. I got a little busy with embassy requirements and other stuff. I just thought of making another blog about my latest thoughts, that has been bothering me... my tummy.

It has been moths since I last gave birth, and I always here all kinds of praises of how I maintained my figure, what’s my secret, blah, blah, blah!!! But what they do not know, is that, even if I did not experience too much weight gain in my pregnancy, even if my arms and thighs seemed to look the same... I have what others may say, the nightmare of pregnancy: my flabby tummy and crazy stretch marks.

This did not bother me that much, until yesterday, when I received my online orders of Forever21 tunics, short shorts and dresses. The shorts were fine, they gave justice to my legs. The tank tops and tunics were okay, in the sense that my arms were flaunted. However, looking at the whole picture... is not a good sight. I still look like 5 months preggy. I tried holding my breath to hold my tummy in, but, they just won’t hide. The super low rise shorts that I bought, also showcased my stretch marks as if I wanted the world to see them.

After staring at the mirror for what seemed to me as forever, I told myself... this can’t stay like this. I must do something, a solution to take away the flabby tummy, and the scariest stretch marks on my body. I surfed online for safe possible ways to do this, and thought of trying some products. For now, I only saw creams and oils that promised instant solutions. But I am looking for more reliable items. Hope I can find one soon...

EDM Flat Top Brush..Me, Happy!

It has arrived!!! For two days, I can’t stop checking the gate, hoping to see the courier bring my goodies...and now here it is...my very own Everyday Minerals Flat Top Brush! Oh okay, I also bought the EDM eye shadow brush, but I just can’t contain my happiness for finally having the flat top brush!!!

You see, I am a certified mineral make up convert. Starting my make up kit from ground zero is not that easy. It took me a lot of patience with the trial and error part: which shade is better, which brush works better with what, and etc.

I bought quiet a number of brushes already, and I especially spent much on kabukis. So far, with all the purchases I have online... none of them really made me this excited. I thought of finally giving up my search for my favourite brush, and just be contented of what I have...until I came across video reviews of the EDM Flat Top Brush...and not to mention, reviews made by my favourite Youtube gurus: Xteeener and Kitcat627. Right after I saw their reviews, I checked the Everyday Minerals Website. It was love at first sight, I must say. The moment I saw it, I just want to have one the SOONEST. I realize that if I opt to buy from the EDM website, I will have to wait for weeks... so definitely I must find another option: Multiply shops!!! Many thanks to tianggeatbp.multiply.com, for selling their EDM brushes at very affordable prices, despite their popularity. Besides, I need them to be cheap... being a mom, and with the not-so-friendly to the pocket price of my son's milk, I can't splurge on cosmetics and the like!

I was able to purchase the flat top brush at 450php, and the eye shadow brush for 300 php, not that bad if you compare their prices to everydayminerals.com. And my favourite part, I don’t have to spend that much for shipping, nor do I have to wait that long to have my EDM brushes :-)

My take on this product?

The EDM Flat Top Brush is indeed the softest brush that ever touched my hands...you can quote me on this, when I say it's the best for it's price! Not only that, it's handle is just the right length for applying foundie and mineral veil. It gave me effortless applications because it is also so dense! I am so happy :-D The velvety feel of the brush tips glided on my face, without poking me, my face feels so pampered. Also, I didn't just use it on mineral make up... but also with other conventional makeup, and it worked fine too.

I didn't mention much about the EDM eye shadow much, because I wasn't as happy with it as I am with the Flat Top Brush. I find it too stiff to apply makeup on my lids. It was not as soft as I expected it to be. I am still happier with the eye shadow brushes I purchased earlier.

I took some pics a few seconds after opening the shipment, and posted them below, for you guys to check out:

Odesk, Mylot, Elance...what else?

It's been days since I last posted here. I have been busy since I just started a job in oDesk, and yet still hunting for more jobs in Elance. Being a single mother, It's not that easy to leave my son at home... at the same time earn money. The best option for me, is to earn from home.

So what does it take to be a member on these sites? I tell you, a lot of patience. I personally prefer oDesk, because from my experience, it is easier to register. Elance and Guru were equally fine...I guess... although I can't say so much about them, because at the moment, I earn from oDesk. The thing is, even if I work the whole day at oDesk, being a newbie, I only get a few bucks a day.

I wonder what other options do I have? Well...patience is a virtue, and I am yet to discover more sites where I wish I can have an earning.

Being a single mom, I need to have extra income. A lot of times, I feel like giving up with finding an online job, but everytime I see other Filipino providers starting from zero, and are now earning a lot, I gain more courage and patience to find more buyers.

I am willing to try and succeed on this. I will try. One of these days, I will be flaunting my online earnings here... That’s a promise! I’m crossing my fingers on that, and I am giving up :-)

Since I am new in blogging, I am still trying to figure out, how do I solicit my reader's thoughts. I wish I can ask you guys if you have other ways of earning online. hmmm... just elave your messages on the left side if you have any more suggestions, I will really appreciate it.

For now, I have to go, will be having an online interview in a little while...

Mahalo!

Randomness...after days of being absent here?

I am back.

Been busy for the past 2 days, sorry. There are a lot of forms to fill up for the visa processing, and not to mention...sooooo many requirements to complete. I have to prioritize though. But hey, you gotta do, what you have to do. I submitted myself to this, and have to accept, that along with it are uber many responsibilites. Wanting to go to Canada is one thing, doing something to go there...is another thing.

Well, so what's new? Hmmm... I am still trying my luck in oDesk, applying for jobs for extra income, while I am at home, waiting for my documents to be processed. I also tried out other "earn at home sites". Learned a few, and though I am not sure of their genuity, I still tried them anyway....namely: Elance, Twitter and Mylot. I thought earning online is that easy... but I just learned it's not. Will have to learn more stuff... being a newbie and not knowing much is a bummer.

Wish me luck guys.

Ciao ciao!

Random Thoughts: Lazy Day with my Son

I am bored and thought of posting some random thoughts...

I spent the whole day with my son. I noticed that he's been having some tantrums already. Since, I don't feel like strolling anyway, I opted to stay at home with him.

Man, this little guys can grow up in a short span of time. I just realized how I need to buy him new stuffs like: onesies, new socks, and caps. He's clothes are getting smaller, while he gets cuter, lol!!!

I am thinking of buying from ukay-ukays. Buying the pricey ones won't be practical for him, coz he is growing so fast at this stage. I might buy him the branded ones, when he is a little older.

Oops, the little lion is crying again. This is all for now... Ciao!

Blog Newbie

I love reading blogs...and it’s not until today, that I decided to make one... my own blog site. I surfed the net on how and where to start, just learned recently about the how to's, and I hope I am applying them now.

Okay, so here’s where I begin. I am a single mom, on my 20’s, a registered nurse in 3 countries...soon to be 4, but still afraid of blood (figure that out!). I loooove surfing the net, like I can spend the whole day staring at the screen, I especially like watching Youtube, for "how to's" especially on makeup. I've been following the videos of exteener, kitcat627, and Michelle Phan. I am also a makeup newbie. I think it's great, that mineral makeup became my first love when it comes to cosmetics.

You'll wonder why I chose to call this site as Milk and Makeup. Hmmm... it's because, as a single mom, it's my money dilemma everytime I shop, you see, I have a son...and I have to provide for his needs...alone (got some help from mom too, teehee!!). So, it's always, baby first...then me.

I also love to travel, but I have only been to 5 countries, and are mostly work related. I enjoyed most of them though... Hopefully, I'll be in another country within this year. I am just working on baby's documents, then we're good to go. I wonder how life will be as a single mom in Canada? Hmmm?

What else?...oh! and most importantly, I am a young woman who is willing to sacrifice everything for my son. He is my strength. His smile soothes my pains. Love him soo much.

I am not sure if there's anything that I forgot to mention, but anyhow, I'll be blabbing about so many things soon. Can't wait for my next blog... that I am pounding myself on the head right now, for not doing this earlier.

... Whew!!! nuff with my blog intro, lol!!! If you have some stuff that u wanna share, or want me to post, just lemme know, ayt? wink***

This is all for now. Thanks muchos! See ya around!! Ciao!
